Affiliate Disclosure
How we make money, and why it doesn’t change what we recommend.

Paddle Board Guide is reader-supported. In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) 16 CFR Part 255 guidelines concerning the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising, we want to be fully transparent about how this Site earns revenue.
1. We Are an Amazon Associate
Paddle Board Guide is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
This means that when you click a product link on our Site that leads to Amazon (or another retailer we partner with) and you complete a qualifying purchase, we may receive a small commission. This applies whether or not you buy the specific product we linked to — Amazon’s tracking cookie generally credits us for other purchases made during that same shopping session.
2. It Costs You Nothing Extra
Using our affiliate links does not increase the price you pay. The commission we receive is paid by the retailer out of their own marketing budget, not added to your purchase price. In many cases, following an affiliate link costs you exactly the same as typing the retailer’s website address directly into your browser.
3. Our Reviews Remain Independent
Commission potential never determines which products we choose to review or how we rate them. We aim to give the same honest assessment — including flaws, trade-offs, and “skip this one” verdicts — regardless of which brand pays a higher commission rate. Where we haven’t personally tested a product, we say so and base our analysis on manufacturer specifications and verified owner feedback rather than presenting it as firsthand experience.
4. Other Affiliate Relationships
In addition to the Amazon Associates Program, we may participate in affiliate or referral programs with other retailers, brands, or platforms mentioned on this Site. Any such relationship follows the same principle described above: commission does not buy favorable coverage.
- Outbound links marked as affiliate links may generate commission for us
- We may occasionally receive free or discounted products for testing purposes; this is disclosed within the relevant article when applicable
- We do not accept payment in exchange for a guaranteed positive review
